What if I am already married or in a de-facto relationship with an Australian permanent resident or citizen? Can I apply onshore?

You may be eligible to apply onshore if you have a valid visa, and satisfy the other criteria. This will allow you to stay onshore legally on a bridging visa when your original visa expires.
